Terms of Use
Last updated 13 August 2026
These terms govern use of the Alephbeis website and the Learning Portal. If you use them for a school, they are an agreement with that school.
1. Who you are agreeing with
The website and the Learning Portal are operated by Alephbeis LLC, 82 Kingsfield Dr, Lakewood NJ 08701 (“Alephbeis”, “we”).
If you use the service on behalf of a school, you confirm you may bind that school, and “you” means the school.
2. What the service is
Alephbeis publishes a Kriah curriculum — seforim, teacher guides, printable material and classroom tools — and the Learning Portal, through which a school assigns work, prints material, and screens and tracks its students.
Access to the Portal is licensed per student, for a school year, at the tier the school buys.
3. Your licence
While your licence is current, you may use the service to teach your own licensed students, and may download and print material for them.
You may not:
- redistribute, resell or publish our material, or make it available outside your school;
- use it commercially, including in paid tutoring outside the licensed school, without our written agreement;
- copy for students you have not licensed;
- reverse-engineer the Portal, or use it to build a competing product.
Everything we publish stays ours. Nothing here transfers ownership of the curriculum, the software, the seforim or the trademarks.
4. Your data stays yours
Everything a school puts into the Portal — staff records, student records, assessment results — remains the school’s. We use it only to provide the service, and never to advertise. What we do with it is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. Accounts
A school is responsible for its accounts: who holds one, what they do with it, and telling us promptly if one is compromised. Accounts are for named people and are not to be shared.
6. Orders, billing and renewal
Prices are those quoted or shown when you order.
A licence is bought for one school year and billed annually. It covers the students licensed under it for that year; the next school year is a new licence.
Card payments are processed by Stripe, and card details never reach us. Where a school pays against a purchase order or by cheque, payment is due within 30 days of invoice.
Renewal is opt-in. A licence does not renew itself and does not roll into another year by default. It ends when its school year does, unless the school either places the next year’s order or chooses to turn automatic renewal on. Automatic renewal is off unless you switch it on; if you do, we will tell you before we charge, and you can switch it off at any time.
7. Refunds and cancellation
Orders paid by card. Printed and physical items may be returned unused within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the goods. Return postage is yours, unless the item arrived damaged, faulty or not what you ordered — in which case it is ours. Downloadable material and portal licences are not refundable once downloaded or accessed; if something has gone wrong, write to us and we will put it right.
Everything else. For invoiced orders and licences we do not operate a blanket policy. If something needs cancelling or changing — a class that did not run, an enrolment that fell through, an order placed in error — write to us and we will settle it case by case.
Nothing in this section affects rights you have by law.
8. Availability
We work to keep the Portal available and to correct faults promptly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may take it down for maintenance. We do not commit to a service level unless a signed agreement says so.
9. Other sites we link to
The service links to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
10. Disclaimer
Except where these terms say otherwise, the service is provided “as is”. We make no warranty that it will meet a particular requirement or produce a particular educational outcome. Every effort is made to keep our material accurate; content changes over time and we do not warrant that it is error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, revenue or goodwill, arising from use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Term and termination
These terms apply while you use the service. A school may stop at any time; the licence year bought is not refundable except as section 7 says.
We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or fees go unpaid after notice.
On termination, what happens to school data is set out in the Privacy Policy: a school may require deletion, and absent instructions we delete after the stated period.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date and, for licensed schools, notified directly before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting them.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, and the courts of New Jersey have exclusive jurisdiction.
Where a school or district requires its own state’s law as a condition of purchase, a signed agreement between us takes precedence over this section.
